Dr. Kingsley Chukwudi Okpala is a Professor of Physics at the University of Nigeria. His research interests include solar - terrestrial interaction, Cosmic rays, geomagnetism, and ionosphere studies. In 2010, he completed his PhD at the University of Nigeria and is an (1997) alumnus of the Vatican Observatory school (VOSS) and was a (2012) CV Raman Fellow at the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai. Kingsley has authored many journal articles and books and is currently interested in understanding the nature of variability of TEC and F2 region of the ionosphere. He has successfully supervised several masters’ students and is currently supervising many PhD students. He is a member of several learned bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), Astronomical Society of Nigeria (ASN), American Geophysical Union (AGU), and International Astronomical Union (IAU) where he serves as a member of the organizing committee of the Commission C2.
