Prof Kusanthan Thankian holds a PhD Degree in Population Studies from the International Institute of Population Studies, Bombay. During the past 24 years, Prof. Kusanthan has worked as a university lecturer/researcher and provided gender training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Zambia. He has also been a consultant for a number of national, regional and international organizations including Local Government Association of Zambia, Grand Challenge Canada Project, Royal Tropical Institute, Harvard Business School, Department for International Development (DFID); Population Services International (PSI), Washington D.C; Ministry of Local Government and Housing, Zambia; Ministry of Education, Lusaka, Zambia; Society for Family Health, Lusaka, Zambia; Zambia/US Research Partnership in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Project; Project Concern International, Zambia; Ministry of Gender and Child Development, Zambia; National AIDS Council, Zambia; NOW Project, School of Miami, Synergy USAID Project, Ministry of Home Affairs, Zambia; Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia, Thrive Project, Zambia; and Child Fund Zambia, Local Government Association of Zambia. He has published articles and has written a number of research reports.
